Incheon Airport Late Night Arrival: How to Reach Seoul After Midnight
For an Incheon Airport late night arrival, one time matters most: the last train to Seoul Station (서울역) leaves Terminal 1 at 23:38. After that, night buses run until dawn, and taxis run all night with a surcharge. Plan around when you clear immigration, not when you land.

Can you still catch the last airport train?
Incheon Airport tells arriving passengers to allow one to two hours for immigration. By that math, a flight that lands after about 21:30 could miss the last Seoul Station train. Check your landing time against the table before you plan a train.
The 23:56 train from T1 only runs as far as Digital Media City, before Hongdae and Seoul Station. From there, take a taxi or check the connecting subway before you board.
The AREX Express is faster but stops earlier. Its last train leaves T1 at 22:48, with a ride of about 43 minutes to Seoul Station.
Miss every train and the next all-stop train toward Seoul leaves T1 at 05:14. Until then, use a bus or taxi.
Which night bus goes near your hotel?
Four night routes with published timetables run from both terminals into Seoul. From T2, add about 20 minutes to the ride times below. The bus leaves T2 20 minutes before the T1 time.

Buy the ticket before you queue for the bus.
What does a taxi cost after midnight?
The airport’s fare table gives a starting fare of ₩4,800 for a standard taxi to Seoul. It doesn’t give a total, so I can’t quote what central Seoul costs. The night surcharge does stack on top:

Trips to Seoul, Incheon, Goyang, Gwangmyeong, Gimpo and Bucheon carry no extra boundary surcharge.
Use the marked taxi stands only. The airport warns that call vans posing as taxis solicit travelers illegally and overcharge.

Where can you rest if no ride works?
Capsule Hotel Darakhyu (다락휴) is open around the clock at both terminals. At Terminal 1 it sits in the Transportation Center (교통센터), and the table lists its overnight hours.

What should you check before you go?
- A single-use AREX transit card costs ₩100 more than the fare with a transit card and carries a ₩500 deposit, refunded at the arrival station.
- Night bus operators: Airport Limousine (02-2664-9898) for N6000 and N6002; Korea Airport Limousine (02-2667-0386) for N6701 and N6703.

So which option fits you?
I’d take the last Seoul Station train if I could clear immigration by about 23:00. It’s the cheapest option by far.
After that, I’d take the night bus when a stop is near my hotel. It costs three to four times the T1 train fare. I’d save the taxi for a hotel that no route reaches.
